Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Training Coordinator will lead the site training initiatives in support of Operations, Plant, Maintenance & Warehouse. They will lead the assessment of departmental training needs and development the implementation of training.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates and maintains a positive and supportive work culture among site Trainers and Trainees.
- Works with site equipment trainers to train all new employees and transfers (cross transfer) to assess individual trainee training needs. Makes recommendations on equipment training completion, return to previous position, continuing training or termination in conjunction with Plant, Maintenance, Warehouse and Operations Management and site Human Resources.
- Evaluates and monitors equipment trainer performance, always looking for ongoing improvements.
- Meets with Operations, Plant, Maintenance and Warehouse on a regular/daily basis to identify near term ongoing manpower training needs. Schedules training to identify meet skilled training needs. Works with department management to identify training/transfer opportunities.
- Coordinates with Human Resources and Department Heads to ensure the postingpromotion process is followed.
- Maintain site training records including an up to-date list of individual qualifications.
- Conduct weekly new employee and contractor orientation programs. Completes all sign offs and documentation. Records electronically.
- Works with the Health and Safety Department to organize and implement site training needs outside of equipment training such as Transportation of Dangerous Goods, First Aid or Investigative Techniques.
- May identify external training programs or groups to address ongoing training needs or improvements to current programs.
- Assists with development of training aids such as manuals and handbooks.
- Facilitate learning based on site requirements through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, hands-on training, on-the-job coaching, and virtual or computer-based training.
- Work with NEBC Training Coordinator to evaluate and continuously improve training material and methodology.
- Maintain training equipment such as laptops, projectors and printers in good working order.
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Site equipment operation knowledge, as well as previous heavy equipment training is a strong asset.
- Comfortable with resolving Trainer and Trainee behavioral issues.
- Able to identify and correct instructional Trainer errors.
- Familiar with training techniques and strategies.
- Experience in an open pit mining environment is an asset.

Work Location / Travel
- Employee bus transport is available from Chetwynd, and Mackenzie, BC.
